The customary enthronement of the Sultan of Perak XXXV, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah continues with the Tabal Pusaka (invocation of the Perak guardian spirits) ceremony that begins with the collection of water for lustration at seven tributaries of the Sungai Perak.

The ceremony takes place at Kuala Kangsar jetty this morning by collecting water from the seven river tributaries that flow to the Sungai Perak, including Sungai Kangsar, Sungai Chempias and Sungai Sayung.

The water taken from the seven tributaries were filled into 16 cups and will be brought to Istana Iskandariah for the Bersiram Tabal (ceremonial bath) that will take place tonight.

Sultan Nazrin Shah and Raja Permaisuri of Perak Tuanku Zara Salim will depart for the ceremonial bath to take place at the Panca Persada (royal dais) built within the grounds of Istana Iskandariah.

Before the ceremonial bath starts, the invocation of the Perak guardian spirits ceremony will take place at the Seri Istana hall.

The invocation of the Perak guardian spirits is a ceremony to present 16 royal instruments like the Sword of Cura Si Manja Kini and Geliga Embun and Nobat (royal musical instrument) to Sultan Nazrin, which will be held in the evening.

Later the Nasi Berastakona (Partaking of Rice) ceremony will take place at the Seri hall before concluding with the banquet ceremony in the istana’s banquet hall.
