The Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project claimed the life of another construction worker, when a temporary structure collapsed at the Tun Razak Exchange MRT underground construction site.

Four Bangladeshi workers were killed in two separate incidents in February and August .

In the latest incident, a Bangladeshi worker who is only identified as Sakiful was dismantling a temporary structure used for a slab work when it gave way at 1.15am today, MRT Corp said.

He was trapped under debris and rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur, where he died.

He was employed by subcontractor SP Mega Sdn Bhd.

The contractor is liaising with the Bangladeshi High Commission and making arrangements to send his remains home, it said in a statement.

The accident site has been closed off for investigations by relevant parties, MRT Corp said.

Former MRT Corp chief executive officer Azhar Abdul Hamid tendered his resignation over the August incident.
