Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak did not employ foreign consultants to draw up the Indian community blueprint stated in the 11th Malaysia Plan, MIC Youth leader C Sivarraajh said today.

"We have many experts among our people who can be better used for this purpose," Sivarraajh said in a press statement released today.

He was referring to claims made by Persatuan Hindraf Malaysia chairperson P Waythamoorthy.

Waythamoorthy chastised Najib for apparently hiring a foreign 'white man' to develop the Indian community blueprint in the 11th Malaysia Plan.

Sivarraajh ( photo ) echoed Wanita MIC chief Mohana Muniandy , who responded to Waythamoorthy's statement yesterday.

MIC president G Palanivel was the one who employed foreign consultants to develop a blueprint that was announced on April 14, Sivarraajh alleged.

Bottom 40 percent

He also confirmed that the blueprint Najib had referred to in the 11th Malaysia Plan would have been developed by the government through the Economic Planning Unit (EPU).

This blueprint would also have been developed by engaging with prominent individuals and organisations in the local Indian community, he said.

Sivarraajh added that he hoped the government will also engage with the bottom 40 percent of the Indians to better know what their issues were.

"Our experts have been studying the problems of the Indian community for generations. We don't need any foreigners to tell us what our problems are," he added.
