Dr M created the mess he’s now griping about

YOURSAY ‘Doctor, so you have tasted the bitter pill. Sadly, you did nothing...’

Dr M: Taxman probed me but not the mega-rich

Vgeorgemy: Dr Mahathir Mohamad's assertion on the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) is correct. During his clinic days, LHDN made certain sets of assumptions on each business, based on the commercial aspects.

If you deviate from your business practice, you will have a lot of issues to explain to them. LHDN conducts its affairs pretty professionally, till to date.

As said, perception is changing, based on the overly wealthy lifestyles of certain officials or politicians.

Roar For Truth: Dr M, it’s good to know you personally experienced Malaysia's two set of rules.

I don't suppose LHDN visited you since you became powerful, rich and famous. Poor Malaysians like us are still abused by these two sets of rules.

Karma: Dr M, why are you complaining? Unfair enforcement of the law is super common in Malaysia.

Some people were arrested by up to 15 policemen at 3am for saying something, while ministers or the brother of a top cop got VIP treatment for saying similar things.

Mafeeah : Why are you lamenting about this now? You had 22 years to sort out and get rid of this nonsense. Now they are just continuing from where you left off, probably with some modifications that you do not seem to like.

Bad Head: Dr M, you have not followed the ‘one for you, one for me’ policy.

Ipoh PP: Doctor, so you have tasted the bitter pill. Sadly, you did nothing during your 22 years to change it. You had the chance, but you looked the other way.

Clearwater: Any income tax probe on you when you were prime minister or after you retired? That would have been more revealing.

Gggg: Well, didn't it start when you were the PM? Top cop bashing Anwar Ibrahim but you told the world, "Anwar may have punched himself."

Did you ever question anyone for misleading you then? Are you talking about the Inland Revenue of the 60s and early 70s?

Well, during those days they were appointed based on meritocracy. And they acted without fear or favour.

Imanust Nais Yalam: What goes around comes around. You could have prevented today's situation. Please sort this out before you go.

RakyatBiasa: I agree with Imanust Nais Yalam. Mahathir, you created this mess so please clean up before you leave this earth.

Reinstate judicial credibility, restore efficient and responsible governing, instil patriotism for country (not government, political party or leaders), inculcate racial and religious harmony and rebuild a better Malaysia for all Malaysians.

What legacy will you leave behind for us and for the future generations? Only time will tell, but you don't have much time in your hands since you will be 90 this July.

Pisasu 7: Ha-ha-ha, look who’s talking. That's why he joined Umno - to run away from taxes.

Sexy heroes get bashful amid censorship fears

Asitis: Things are becoming more and more ridiculous in this country. Do you seriously think we can achieve Vision 2020 when a little doll is deemed to be capable of destroying the moral fibre of our society while corruption and the likes are allowed to spread like wild weeds without any worry that they will corrupt the minds of the people?

Ah-hah!!!: Can someone clarify exactly what empowers the Home Ministry’s Al-Quran Text and Publishing Control Division to raid non-Muslim shops and seize merchandise worth thousands of ringgit?

SemoLina : It is not as if they are life-sized figurines like the boy mannequin our paedophile math scholar had with him. If they are indeed offensive, then the Customs Department should not allow the import of these items.

Msian1st: SemoLina, if it is a boy figurine, it’s okay. The sponsor of his scholarship would approve it.

Snake-in-the-Grass: You must be thinking when they see those dolls they will get a panic attack, if not an epileptic seizure.

But ultimately, you just have to pity the people with low IQ. They need plenty of goodwill, otherwise how will they survive?

Tembikai: They see a bit of cleavage and they get all excited. Please learn to control yourselves instead of controlling other people and acting as if you are sent by God.

Well Thats Fantastic: Apparently, zealots cannot tell the difference between a piece of plastic, a photograph and the real thing.
