DBKL DG Mhd Amin Nordin appointed new KL mayor

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) director-general Mhd Amin Nordin Abdul Aziz, 59, has been appointed as the new mayor of the federal capital for the city, effective July 18.

Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansur in a  statement hin Kuala Lumpur today said Mhd Amin’s appointment as the 11th mayor of Kuala Lumpur had received the consent of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah.

“His 37 years experience in DBKL will help him perform his duties as mayor,” said Tengku Adnan.

The appointment is for a period of two years.

Commenting on the contract of the present mayor, Ahmad Phesal Talib, which ends on July 17, Tengku Adnan said: “I want to record my highest appreciation and thanks for his service as mayor of Kuala Lumpur.

He said during Ahmad Phesal’s tenure, DBKL had implemented various policies effectively.
