Retail prices of RON95, RON97 petrol, and diesel is down by 10 sen a litre for August 2015, effective midnight.

The new price after Goods and Services Tax (GST) for RON95 is RM2.05 per litre, while the price for RON97 is RM2.45 per litre, and the price for diesel is RM1.95 per litre.  

"The price will be effective from 12.01 am, Aug 1," Malaysian Petrol Dealers Association deputy president Zulkifli Mokti said when contacted by Bernama .   

The announcement also refuted irresponsible rumours on social media by certain parties which alleged the government would be increasing the price of the three types of fuel by as much as 35 sen per litre.

It quoted the secretary-general of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry as the source of information.
