The Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur today set Aug 10 for mention of a case involving a former model charged with committing an obscene act by stripping in public last April.

Magistrate Nur ‘Aminahtul Mardiah Md Nor set the date after deputy public prosecutor Noor Svetlana Mohd Noor Nordin, who prosecuted, informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the report on the mental state of the accused.

Noor Svetlana told the court that the accused, Persana Avril Sollunda, 33, had been discharged from Tanjung Rambutan Hospital in Perak, where she was ordered to undergo mental observation, last Friday.

However, she said, the investigating officer in the case was not in court today to hand over the report.

Persana Avril was charged with committing the offence at a chicken rice shop in Jalan Petaling here on April 23 this year.

The charge under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code, carries a maximum three months’ jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction.

She is represented by lawyer Kelvin Tan.
