The Law Reform Committee (JPUUM) plans to hold a public forum, entitled 'Formulating Harmony Bill: What Should Be In?' nationwide,  Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri said.

She said the move was made to gather more views related to the proposed National Harmony Bill from all walks of life.

Nancy said the first session of the forum which was held in Kuching, Sarawak in May had attracted the participation of over 500 individuals comprising religious leaders, lecturers as well as university and school students.

"The response we received is very encouraging and we can see that the people thirst for knowledge and meetings like that.

"Apart from the draft of National Harmony Bill, many other matters were also discussed, such as the Federal Constitution and the importance of the relationship between the state and the federal government," she told reporters after an Aidilfitri celebration ceremony in Putrajaya today.

Nancy said although the drafting of the proposed bill was under the jurisdiction of National Unity and Integration Department, JPUUM aimed at providing a platform to help produce a summary from the people's point of views regarding national harmony.
