Congestion at some parts of the North-South Expressway

Traffic flow along the North-South Expressway (Plus) from the federal capital was congested in several areas at around 12.30pm today due to the increased number of vehicles plying on it ahead of the Chinese New Year festive season.

According to a Plus Malaysia Berhad spokesperson, traffic heading north was reported to be congested for three kilometres from Jawi to Bandar Baru while traffic was also slow from Slim River to Sungkai due to a minor accident at Km366.7.

“Meanwhile, along the Plus Expressway heading south, only one route, from Senai to Pulai heading north was reported to be congested for two kilometres due to an accident,” she said.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the Malaysian Highway Authority said traffic heading to the East Coast along the East Coast Highway (LPT)1 and 2 was still moving smoothly.
