In a surprising move, Umno Wanita chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil seems to have taken a jab at her predecessor Rafidah Aziz.

Commenting on Rafidah who is seen to be quite vocal as of late, especially with regard to the Kedah political crisis, Shahrizat said she could only “shake her head” when reading the former minister's Facebook post on the matter.

Rafidah, she said, in her 22 years leading Umno Wanita, had always reminded them to be disciplined and to be loyal and abiding to the party leadership, especially to the president.

“This principle, however, has been ignored as she is now clearly denying the party president’s leadership and making all kinds of perceptions in relation to the issue that is currently happening in the party and in the country’s leadership,” said Shahrizat in a Facebook post today.

“How sad… Rafidah, who was once a woman of principles, seems to be caught in the opposition’s game to weaken the party (Umno)."

Umno Wanita, pledged Shahrizat ( photo ), will continue to persevere in staying loyal and in supporting Najib Abdul Razak’s leadership as Umno president and the country’s prime minister.

“(This is) because he really takes care of the party’s struggle and he also takes care of the rakyat well when the rest of the world is facing challenges.

“Umno Wanita’s loyalty to the president and the party is not easily rocked,” she affirmed.

Rafidah, in her Facebook post on Wednesday, said that the removal of former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir had showcased greed for power and posts.

“Toppling others to gain positions, this is what we call greedy. Greed for power and posts,” she said.

Mukhriz announced his resignation as menteri besar on Wednesday after being informed the day before that he had lost majority support in the Kedah legislative assembly.
