S'WAK POLLS The Sarawak government's ‘Sejiwa Senada’ roadshow is set to end with a bang in Kuching, with a lucky draw offering attractive prizes including two Toyota Hilux, two Toyota Vios, and a Perodua Axia.

‘Sejiwa Senada’ programmes are part of the state's engagement with the rakyat to improve the government administration delivery system, similar to Putrajaya's ‘People First, Performance Now’ programme.

The Kuching leg of the road show began on April 21 and will come to an end today, just a day before nomination day for the state election.

The four-day event saw daily lucky draws but the biggest prizes will be reserved for today.

Malaysiakini, which surveyed the event, was told by the person in charge that a total of 29 prizes were drawn on Thursday, 91 on Friday, and 60 yesterday.

Participants have to get an e-peraduan form (online complaints form) and collect 15 stamps on it from participating government agencies, which include Radio Televisyen Malaysia, Public Service Commission, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, and Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak.

The form states that any person aged 15 and above with a valid MyKad qualifies.

They will also need to correctly answer multiple choice questions about the state government's policies.

Among the questions were: "Effective Jan 1, 2015, the domestic tariff for electricity was reduced _____" and "Among the steps taken to improve forest management and enforcement include _____"

The response has been overwhelming, with long lines of people trying to obtain the form for a chance at winning lucrative prizes.
