In Hadi's books, 75pct world gov'ts not fit to rule

YOURSAY | 'Malaya would not have gained independence with his 'only Islam can rule' concept.'

Hadi: Only Islam can rule, others must be 'pak turut'

Tan Kim Keong: More confusion thrown in by PAS. Firstly, is Islam a person now? Since PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said only Islam can rule the country and that Islam has to be the leader and ruler.

Secondly, he lamented that more than three-quarters of the world's governments are indifferent to what's good and what's evil. Thirdly, he asserted that humans are incorrigible until and unless Islam corrects them. I get it.

Maybe this is another ideology of Hadi's in the making. Malaysia boleh!

FellowMalaysian: Hadi should be made to clarify and explain fully his statement that PAS will only work with others who 'uphold the power of Islamic governance' and they must make changes towards 'prioritising Islam'.

What Hadi meant to assert was that PAS can only team up with those parties which accept and agree with the country being ruled as an Islamic state which follow complete Islamic laws and principles, not the least of which include syariah laws and its jurisdictions.

Hadi has obviously ignored or pretended to ignore the fact that more than half the people of this country are non-Muslims, who obviously will be appalled, exasperated, and bewildered, if the country were to become an Islamic state governed under syariah criminal codes and conduct.

Hadi only has the Muslims in mind and based on this opinion of his, there is no reason why other multiracial or non-Muslim based parties should ever consider accommodating him or PAS, as their likely partner.

Drngsc: Go and rule in the Kingdom of Kemaman, and return to the dark ages. The world has moved on. As for the rest of Malaysia, we are multi-cultural, multi-racial, and religion is a personal matter.

We will uphold the federal constitution and the rukun negara. If it has to be a three-cornered fight, so be it. We will fight to win Putrajaya, three-cornered fights or not.

Gaji Buta: Okay, at least he has drawn the line in the sand. No one can blame PAS in future for not being crystal clear on its position. All suitors should proceed at their own risk.

Just a Malaysian: The position of PAS is now made very clear. No more ambiguity. Hadi has the right to make his party's stand. This is democracy. Muslims must now choose between Amanah who will rule by Islamic virtues and good values, versus PAS who will rule Taliban style. The choice will decide our future.

Bamboo: PKR and Umno have heard what Hadi said. But I guess the spineless leaders in PKR and Umno will still court cooperation of PAS for short-term gain, i.e. to win power at federal and/or state level. Islamic laws pursued by PAS can be dealt with later.

TimesAchanging: Hadi is the leader because he is of Islam. We are not, because we are not of Islam. This the same tune as Taliban, Al-Qaeda, IS. So much talk about the importance of his religion, and he won't even demand that Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) face justice.

In fact, he is supporting MO1. Zero credibility. These people think running a country is as simple as referring to a religious book. If it's as simple as that, wonder why so many refugees from Islamic countries want to flee to non-Islamic countries. Can religion solve all problems?

Paul Warren: Sir, if you don't mind. Politics is like a soccer game, and all of us are players. It is not a game made up of only you and your side. There are rogues and others too, who play this game. In this game of soccer, we kick the ball, so that we can score goals.

The ball, in this case, is everything that affects us as citizens of this country. It's not just politics, it is education, it is economic policies, security, governance, laws and the execution of those laws, taxes, tolls, religion, babies milk, food, water and even the air that we breathe and not forgetting our final resting places.

At any one time any of these can be the football and we kick them with our feet. Why we tell you to keep religion out of the field, is so that we don't have to kick it. We revere all religions. They are sacred. Even my coffee cup, which is my religion.

I keep out of politics so that you don't have to kick it. If you revere your religion, like I do my cup, keep it out. Unless you are reckless about it.

Anonymous_3e86: See how the PAS story keeps changing? All this while, other PAS leaders say the hudud bill wasn't about hudud implementation, but about increasing the punishment by the syariah court.

Now Hadi says he wants to implement Islamic law throughout Malaysia. How to trust PAS with Hadi as their leader? In fact how can we trust PAS anymore without tok guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat?

Anonymous #37634848: Hadi, where are the true Islamic practices in Malaysia? You have failed to voice out against rampant corruption, injustice and an un-Islamic mode of rule in the country. Muslims are supposed to defend the good, and fight the wrong.

We have too many wrongs, but you have not exhibited your Islamic credibility thus far. How to influence non-Muslims, even Muslims, without practising and preaching the true Islamic principles and values?

Clongviews: You once ruled Terengganu. You got kicked out. Pakatan Harapan must not work with PAS, especially with Hadi.

Malaya would not have gained independence had this "only Islam can rule" concept been presented. The Conference of Rulers must put a stop to this in this multi racial/religious country.

Fair Play: Hadi, how many members has PAS? Three million? What is the population in Malaysia? You are just a small fish in an even smaller bottle.

Headhunter: I don't know about his 'pak turut' but if PAS is allowed to rule, the country we will go 'kaput'.
