The Federal Court has dismissed a law firm’s application to appeal against a court action by a group of Felda settlers for an inquiry to be held on payments made into the law firm’s account.
The three-member bench headed by Justice Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin dismissed the appellant’s application for leave and ordered costs of RM20,000. The case by the Felda settlers will now proceed in the High Court in Kota Bharu.
The two appellants are lawyer Wan Rohimi Wan Daud and his partner Asmadi Abu Bakar and they have been asked to account for more than RM11.3 million that the firm received on behalf of the settlers.
