DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has criticised the cabinet for mooting a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on Bank Negara's foreign exchange (forex) losses in the 1990s but ignoring the current 1MDB scandal.
"All cabinet ministers are guilty of colossal negligence and irresponsibility of the first degree when they could discuss the possibility of a RCI into Bank Negara's forex losses more than two decades ago but there is no mention or discussion of possible RCI into the current 1MDB kleptocratic scandal," he said in a statement today.
Lim said this in response to Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin who revealed that the proposed RCI on forex losses was discussed yesterday and would be raised again at the next cabinet meeting for a decision.
