Minister ends brush raids

Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Hamzah Zainudin instructed an end to raids on shops suspected of selling pig-bristle brushes to allow time for shop owners to properly label the products.

Some shop owners have asked the government to provide a written directive on how to deal with the brushes.

Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong said the brush issue was not about religion and spoke out against pitting Muslims and non-Muslims against one another.

PAS to sue Husam over Umno fund claim

PAS has threatened to sue its former leader Husam Musa for insinuating that the party had access to Umno funds through a local bank.

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang criticised the cabinet for mooting a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on Bank Negara’s forex losses in the 1990s but turning a blind eye on 1MDB.

Suaram adviser Kua Kia Soong said the civil society supports an RCI into 1MDB, the forex losses as well as the Bumiputra Malaysia Finance (BMF) which were deemed as the biggest scandals in the country's history.
