Jong-nam's painful death

Kim Jong-nam, brother of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, died a painful death about 15 minutes after poison was administered on him, Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam said.

He said the autopsy and toxicology report showed Jong-nam died of organophosphate poisoning, with the poison administered having the characteristics of VX nerve agent.

The authorities declared KLIA2, where the poison was believed to have been administered, safe after a Hazmat clean up in the wee hours of Sunday.

Meanwhile, a diplomat at the North Korean embassy in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, snapped at reporters after his car was allegedly damaged by the hounding press pack camped out there.

King Salman of Saudi Arabia arrives

Malaysia welcomed Saudi Arabia's King Salman, who kicks off his rare month-long Asian tour in Kuala Lumpur, as the Arab nation seeks to court Asian investors for the sale of a five percent stake in state firm Aramco.

Former prime minister and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad urged the "visitor" to clarify on the RM2.6 billion no strings attached political donation Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said he received form the Saudi royal family.

Muhyiddin responds to royal rebuke

Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin responded to Johor's Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar after the state ruler lambasted a former Johor MB for "arrogance", saying it is up to the people to judge.

Sultan Ibrahim has been on a collision course with Bersatu leaders, particular Mahathir, following the latter's criticism of the Forest City development in Gelang Patah, Johor.



Meanwhile, Johor Amanah has urged state Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin to explain the anti-corruption sweep implicating those close to key administators, involving housing and land, but Khaled said he would wait for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission investigations.
