Former mosque committee officials were arrested today over suspicion of corruption in the sale of wakaf (trust) land belonging to a mosque in Kampung Bukit Cina, Malacca, an Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission source said.
The duo, suspected of receiving a bribe of RM116,000, were arrested while giving their statements to the MACC on the matter at the anti-graft body's state headquarters, the source said.
They are suspected of selling the land to a non-Muslim, a breach of trust conditions, after receiving the bribe, the source said.
