Penang BN's motion for the chief minister and public servants to go on leave pending trial for corruption has been rejected by the speaker's office.
Opposition leader Jahara Hamid confirmed receiving notice of this on Friday.
Asked if grounds of rejection were stated in the notice, Jahara said "You must ask the speaker (Law Choo Kiang)".
"They want to close all doors, to preserve and protect the chief minister. So, let us wait until the legislative assembly sitting (on May 19) and we will talk about it," she told Malaysiakini.
