PAS election director Mustafa Ali talks about the Islamic state issue - the party's most controversial policy thus far - in this second part of the interview and argues why it is no longer considered a 'big issue' for the party.

Malaysiakini: There are a number of religious controversies this year alone. How is PAS going to tackle them when you face non-Muslim voters in the next general election?

Mustafa: As far as religious issues are concerned, PAS' struggle is based on Islam in its real sense - (meaning) not how some people, especially from Umno or BN, want to perceive it. How they perceive (Islam) sometimes is not correct. Not sometimes, it is most of the time. They purposely make it in such a way that people will perceive PAS differently.
