For the second time in a decade, Anwar Ibrahim now stands accused of sodomy and was brought to a hospital to be probed, measured and examined.
"When I was brought to the hospital, I was stripped naked for tests and had my private parts examined," the PKR de facto leader told a packed 30-minute press conference at his house hours after he was freed on police bail.
"They also measured the necessary parts," Anwar quipped.
However, he put his foot down when they came for his blood.
When doctors tried to get a sample of his blood for DNA testing, he asked them whether they could guarantee that the specimens would be tamper-proof.
"They said they will conduct it (the testing) professionally, I'm convinced. After that, they said it (the specimen) will be handed over to the police. On that, I'm worried," said Anwar.
"The reason being my DNA specimen will be in the possession of the police. Saiful's (Bukhari Azlan) DNA is also held by the police.
He said the given his experience in his previous trials, where there attempts were made to fabricate evidence, it would be hard for his to trust the police in handling his current case professionally.
"My accuser is still in police protection and as such, any fabrication is possible if they take my DNA," he said.
"My decision to refuse a DNA test is taken through the advice of my lawyers and DNA experts, both local and overseas."
‘They've seen all my private parts'
Anwar, 61, added that he also refused to have his photographs taken while he was naked in the hospital.
"They've already seen all my private parts. Of course, I refused to let them take my photographs. They (the photographs) could end up on YouTube very soon.
"At my age, it's not a problem but I don't think it would be complimentary," quipped Anwar, who was flanked by family members including wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and daughter, Nurul Izzah (

Nevertheless, he said that the police were exceeding polite and did not touch him at all.
"But I regret to say, that for a person my age with a severe back problem after a major surgery should end up in a cell reserved for the worst criminals in town," said Anwar, who spent the night in the lock-up on the 7th floor of the police headquarters.
"And I was asked to sleep on the cold cement floor with nothing. At 1am, my wife brought a towel and that exarcerbated the pain.
"That's why the moment I got back, my family doctor came to give me a strong dosage of painkillers to my back.
"I don't deserve that. No Malaysian deserves that. Why treat me like a major criminal and a public enemy. Short of torture what do you call that?"
Anwar, who seeking to mount a political comeback after being sacked and jailed on sodomy and corruption charges a decade ago, was arrested by balaclava-clad police commandos yesterday.
He was taken to police headquarters and underwent a marathon six-hour questioning session before being escorted to the hospital for a medical examination.
The arrest was over allegations that he had sodomised 23-year-old former aide Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan.
