A close aide of Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said today that his office has not issued an official manifesto.

najib tun razak 040808 The manifesto carried in Malaysiakini on Sunday was not sanctioned or authorised by his office, which did not have knowledge of the document.

The manifesto had been sent by a 'support group' of Najib's.

“We don't have any knowledge of it at all," the aide told Malaysiakini.

The 55-year old Najib has won nominations from all 65 divisions that have met so far.

He is expected to romp home unchallenged at party election due to be held next March.

His only challenger, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, has not received any nominations yet.
