I am pleased to be here to participate and inaugurate the launch of the Press Freedom Wall in conjunction with World Press Freedom Day (Friday, May 3).

I understand the Wall (photo) depicts 18 publications which were banned from pre-Merdeka times to date because the publications presumably contained materials which were not palatable to the powers that be then, but on grounds that they were against the security of the state.
