Is it because the world recognises Malaysia as an Islamic state that the country was asked to host the Organisation of Islamic Conference's (OIC) 10th Summit, as claimed by certain quarters?

Or would they have us believe that the incoming chairmanship of the organisation automatically makes Malaysia an Islamic state?
