Pakatan Rakyat (PR) has finally come of age to realise the importance and necessity of holding a joint convention to place all their cards on the table and come up with a viable and solid mandate to face the big tasks ahead.

In particular, to show that they are capable of removing the BN government from their 'peacock' throne.

Pakatan’s comrades-in-arms have very varied ideologies which quite often contradicts one another and these are sometimes openly expressed in public. For a team to work as one, this has to stop.

Any differences that exist and which are bound to happen in any partnership, must be settled amicably from within. The public should not feel that this team - which is the hope and the future direction of the country - is incapable of managing the throne they are seeking.

Whatever plans and visions that have been formulated mean nothing at all if they cannot be implemented in a fair and just way to benefit the public at large. There is a lot of hard work and groundwork to be done now till the next general election (GE).

Reach out to the public to pave the way for an overwhelming victory in due time and not wait for when the election is just round the corner to do your campaigning and hasty work. As an example, I live in an area which is a Pakatan parliamentary constituency but have yet to see any service centre or Pakatan representative making her presence felst there since the last election.

If you cannot show the grassroots that you care for them, the people may just live with the devil they know rather than with the angel they do not know. We do not want to see Pakatan ending up like BN who started off well and clean but later their deeds and words became questionable and complacency was seen to have set in.

Pakatan should not squander its chance of coming in at the right time to bring about much needed changes and to replace the seen abuses of power in the current government.

The recent joint convention and the solidarity that has been expressed therein is a clear testimony that people of diversity in thinking and behaviour, can work together if they really want to instead of finding faults with one another.

The united strength you hold can help you gain a significant victory in the coming general election. Thus, use it wisely and the results will be stupendous.

A new political era has arisen with Paktan Rakyat standing truly united amidst the forces out to destroy them. The ball is at their court and they have the choice to direct it where they want.
