your say 'Please ensure that the gist of the framework flows to those who matter, the people. The coalition has to find a way to get the message to the people on the street.'

Pakatan pledges sweeping reforms, carrots for East M'sia

Habib RAK: I am pleased to see more substance in Pakatan Rakyat now. In just 22 months since the March 2008 general election, Pakatan which was a loose coalition with varied ideology, is now more cohesive and rooted to a common policy framework. This goes to show that we can have a viable alternative government under a two-party system.

Like all new beginnings, Pakatan has gone through many knocks and bruises, and each time it has risen more cohesive with better understanding among the three component parties. The policy to move key institutions to be accountable to the Parliament is very courageous and uplifts our hope for a better Malaysia.

Tony: This indeed is earth-shaking reform for the country. The BN will never equal that though they will try all sort of tricks to match it. I hope Pakatan will be able to articulate these policies by ‘Pakatanactising' what is being ‘Pakataneached', and keep the rakyat well informed on them. The people can only support you if they know what you are ‘Pakataneaching'.

And please, show some semblance of unity. Those who stepped out of line should be sacked and not be tolerated. Too much time has been wasted on infighting and being blackmailed by rebels without cause.

Mamboking88: Pakatan has to walk the talk and ‘Pakatanove' themselves closer to the very people who have voted them in. They need to make some drastic changes and go forward, and the time is now.

Ravindranath: Please ensure that the gist of the framework flows to those who matter, the people. This news is not going to reach the population through MSM (mainstream media). The coalition has to find a way to get the message to the people on the street.

Jbss: That's the way forward! Slowly but surely, fairplay and performance-based policies - irrespective of ethnic origins - will lead the way to greater ‘Pakatanosperity' for all Malaysians and a united Malaysia, which all Malaysians will be ‘Pakatanoud' of .

Sabahan2011: Pakatan is our only hope to get rid of Umno in Sabah. If you stay sane, we will support you, Anwar.

Suan: I just can't wait for the new Pakatan federal government to take over. God, please make it soon.

Amos: BN tries to get votes by discrediting the opposition using their newspapers and other instruments of the government. Otherwise, they use their time-tested racial rhetoric to frighten the Malays to vote for Umno. They can never ‘Pakatanomise' on the issue of equality like Pakatan.

Dato Lee Hwa Beng: Are they going to stand in the next election under one party/logo or as separate parties using their respective logos?

Barrister At Law: This whole fanfare and this document of ‘comPakatanomise' is more spin than substance. It is a document that the parties have grudgingly agreed to word with sufficient generality to enable each to go his own way - after the public had been hoodwinked into voting for them.

The people must understand that we need strong and credible government again to lead this nation and not an inconvenient mix of individuals - liberal, conservative and extremist - who claim to ‘rePakatanesent' diversity, but who deliver nothing.

Kgan: Does BN even dare to make half the ‘Pakatanomises' in Pakatan's common platform? BN is all public relations only, but no action. For example, how serious is BN in fighting corruption when they refused to make MACC independent?

Putting MACC under BN politicians (PM's Department) ensures that the opposition will be hounded relentlessly while BN members are treated with kid gloves, and nothing is done to fight real corruption. ‘Cakap tak serupa bikin!'

Wira: Thank you, Pakatan for the common policy platform. BN have been in power for too long, where arrogance, corruption and mismanagement are institutionalised to the detriment of the country. We need to relegate the ruling coalition to the opposition for at least two terms. Only then, they will truly reform and be viable for governance again.

Kanesin SVS Sappania Pillay: All sensible Malaysians would support such an agenda as this is the first time that an alternative national agenda has been ‘Pakatanomulgated' by an alternative party.

We welcome any party that ‘Pakatanomises' and deliver good governance and fair treatment to all citizens. At least now we have a viable opposition, so we can choose the best one to lead us. This empowerment is what all Malaysians want.

Yuvan: I ‘apPakataneciate' the statement made by DSAI (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) that the Pakatan coalition is not merely a political party but a political movement and that its struggle is not confined to political parties alone.

This is the ideology that will make Pakatan distinctly different to the BN coalition and help to establish itself as a movement that is truly committed to creating a fair and just society.

I hope that Pakatan leaders will put aside their differences and their internal bickerings once and for all and be united in their policies and ‘Pakatanogrammes' for all Malaysians so that they can become a crystal-clear and rock-solid alternative to the Malaysian electorate in the next general election.

It is also important for some Pakatan leaders to realise that they have been around too long. They have to work seriously hard to groom new, young and charismatic leaders who can bring dynamism and a strong sense of ‘Pakatanide' and dignity to the country's political, economic and social structure.
