I refer to Malaysiakini report One Israel, 1 Malaysia and Apco in between .

Malaysian parliamentary sessions are turning into a comedy court of sorts with jesters trying to outsmart and outwit one another over matters that do not constitute any benefit or good for the nation.

Wake up, parliamentarians! You were not put there to play a game of ‘congkak’ but to look at what are the pressing issues and needs of the nation and address them maturely and professionally for the benefit of everyone regardless of which side of the divide you are sitting.

I am sure most Malaysians do not want to see these sessions being turned into an unruly and mud-slinging match and a free-for-all ruckus. If there is a need to argue and debate over an issue, then do so in a dignified manner. Do not hit below the belt just to get a point across.

Let the opposition speak and do not stifle their opinions or comments. They are also representatives of the people and should be heard and given air time to speak.

Do not blow trivial and unimportant issues out of proportion to make an idiotic point. And do not think the people today are not knowledgeable enough to know what is the truth.

Sadly, what is going on today in this beloved countr makes one think that the future does not augur well for our generation. However, there is optimism that the nation will see better times ahead.

Leaders must have the foresight to build and not be clouded by their own sentiments and negative attitudes.
