It's more than three weeks now and the Penang Hindu Endowment Board (PHEB) has not called for a board meeting after the Thaipusam religious festival.

To add on, the temple president, Govindaraju, is still not removed. It was he who was seen conducting rituals for VIP's on Thaipusam Day at the Thaneer Malai Temple, thus holding up the devotees from going up to the temple.

This caused fainting (especially among the elders and children) on the steps leading up to the temple.

Why is he still being kept as the temple president, when he is incapable of carrying out the duties entrusted upon him.

The Chairperson of PHEB, Prof P Ramasamy must also resign from his post and pave the way for better elected personnel who are clean, efficient and will not use the PHEB for their political mileage.

He is not fit to chair the PHEB. He should resign with immediate effect. Furthermore no action has been taken on the temple committee member who requested for large amount of money from Thaneer panthal stall operators.

On another matter, it is also made known that the operator of the Batu Lancang Cemetery, has not paid the rentals to the PHEB for the past six months and one wonders what is the chairman and the board members doing about it. We don't need these sort of leaders and members to head the PHEB Board.

It's a disgrace to the Hindu Community and the state administration must take immediate steps to nip the problems faced at PHEB.

It is likely that the board members are still holding on to the post till the Thaneer Malai Murugan Temple Kumbavishegam which is scheduled in June 2012.

The entire board should be terminated and only capable members from the PR administration be elected as commissioners at the board.

If PR wants to control the state in the coming general elections then policies must not be compromised and swept under the carpet.

It just goes to show the BN/MIC were carrying out a better administration even though they were using the PHEB as their platform for their benefits.

It is alleged that vandalism has occurred deliberately at the Batu Lancang Crematorium thus the crematorium units are not operational and quotations have to be called to repair. This is one way of siphoning funds from the PHEB and is a loss of revenue to the board.

Why is everyone in the PHEB board keeping mum about it? This clearly indicates the chairman has something up his sleeves for not taking action on the operator because he probably is also his bodyguard.

These were the same people spotted escorting the PHEB chairman during the Thaipusam annual walk which was reported by a devotee.

However, it is alleged that Ramasamy denied the allegations and said he brought these people to protect the Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

What a lame and ridiculous answer to use the chief minister as a shield.

This is exactly what Prof Dr Ahmad Atory Hussain commented in Malaysiakini that leaders and grassroots members of political parties should not act like thugs as this will not only give a bad image to the party but leave a negative impression on the society.

The gangster-like behavior should not be allowed to go on, as it would create a bad impression not only on the perpetrators but also the party which they belong to.

This is very rampant especially by Ramasamy's supporters in DAP as mentioned in the media with photographs as evidence.

On another note , the DAP disciplinary committee which heard the complaints on Ramasamy has been keeping mull since the first meeting held on Feb, 11th 2012. Why is the party practicing double standards?

In the case of DAP Kota Alam Shah Assemblyman M Manoharan, the disciplinary committee on its own motion without any formal complaints, took an immediate decision to suspend him for six months.

If not for the National Chairman Karpal Singh's intervention, Manoharan's suspension would not have been lifted.

The evidence that was put forward to the disciplinary committee showed Ramasamy's close aide being involved in the demonstration and sufficient enough to implicate Ramasamy in organising the demonstration and warrant his sacking from the party because he has not taken any steps to rebut this allegation.

Incidentally, while the disciplinary committee meeting was in progress, a few of the people who demonstrated, included his close aide who appeared in the media photos during the party convention in Prai, were seen sitting in the lobby of the party headquarters at Wenworth Hotel, Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.

The members of the panel were notified instantly while the complainants were leaving the party Headquarters at Pudu and the disciplinary committee had also seen this people.

But why is it the disciplinary committee decided not to take any action. This clearly shows that DAP leaders have an agenda and the people must take note of the double standards the party is practicing.

It is important for the DAP leaders to take note that the younger party members will make better leaders than the current ones who tarnish the name of the party.

It is very obvious that the DAP top leaders have compromised with Ramasamy and have not taken any action on him but are prepared to tarnish the name of the party.

DAP should sack Ramasamy like how PAS sacked Hasan Ali and upkeep the name as Democratic Action Party.

Ramasamy is a newcomer to DAP and given the position of a DCM after the GE12 but within a short span, he is now showing is arrogant behavior and does not give a hoot to the party leaders.

The GE 13 is around and its time the people weigh the pros and cons about voting for DAP if such disreputable leaders are still kept in the party despite the damage done.

It has also caused a rift within the party elected representatives who in good faith supported Ramasamy when he was appointed as the DCM being a senior by age although a junior in the party.

The above article is not about the DAP winning the GE 13 or trying to demolish Ramasamy's political career but its more about democracy, cleanliness and efficiency of a leader whom the people voted for.

Now the same people in the same constituency have to reconsider if it's worthwhile voting for such a man who refuses to toe the party's guidelines and policies of the DAP and its leaders, as a PR component party.
