- PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man has rejected Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan’s suggestion that Terengganu hold a state election to test PAS’ sincerity on Malay political cooperation.
“As long as there is no urgent need, the people should not be burdened with the political pressure and costs of facing a state election,” he said in a statement.
Tuan Ibrahim (above) said polls should not be used as testing grounds or to measure the sincerity of political cooperation.
Instead, he said it would be better to dissolve Parliament and seek a fresh national mandate, while noting that Perikatan Nasional had instructed its election machinery to prepare for any eventuality.

- Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has urged BN leaders, particularly those from Umno, not to act out of emotion, while those in cabinet should prioritise the country’s interests.
“Whatever decisions we make will not be based on emotion, but on what is best for the country. We put the country first. That is what our ‘teacher’ taught us,” Fahmi (below) said, citing Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s remarks at the recent PKR congress.

He was responding to Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s challenge yesterday for the Harapan-led government to boot out BN and call for snap polls.
Fahmi said differing views were normal within political parties, but leaders must “put Malaysia first”, adding that he was confident the Anwar administration would remain stable and continue governing until the end of its term.
PAS getting too arrogant, it can challenge but refused to be challenged. And one of them said Wawasan is a sardine party containing rejects. Hamzah should house his party elsewhere, where he can get some respect and honour.
PAS trying to ride UMNO while UMNO is desperate to regain power at any cost failing which many of them will go behind bars. Full stop.
