Cars sliding off highways. Landslides washing cars away. And just last week, a major car manufacturer launched a family car which seats seven but doesn't even come with a single airbag.
I agree that the local national cars rarely come with them, but, for an imported brand? A multipurpose family vehicle on top of that?
Head and chest injuries are a major cause of death and serious disabilities in road traffic accidents. If you wouldn't buy a new car without seatbelts, why would you buy one without airbags?
None of the cars crash tested in Europe and have more than a 50 percent chance of a serious chest and head injury are sold without airbags.
The ad on the banner for the seven-seater says: 'The rules will be broken'. Indeed, and that's not the only thing that will be broken during an accident.
