This is in response to the article ' Vernacular education system and the Left (Pt 1 )'.

First of all, we must understand that Malaysia or 'Malayland' is where the Malay language shall be spoken. Other languages such as Mandarin and Tamil shall have their places in China and India respectively.

I believe the Malaysian government has been very tolerant and gives much leeway to the language issue. There is no place in the world, except for Israel and Singapore that the bumiputera totally lost out on language and land.

I think the Malays should not be tolerant to this issue. All other languages shall not be allowed to be taught in this land except for the learning of the language, not as a medium of instruction.

Actually, it is very sad that the Malays have lost their land, culture and language in 'Singapura' - the centre of Malay land and culture. Today the Malay in 'Singapura' has been marginalised and the Malay language has lost its function.

All of you, Chinese and Indians, please respect that Malaysia is Malay land, therefore Malay culture and language shall be used.

I doubt malaysiakini will publish my comment. You also afraid to write in Bahasa Melayu or open site with bahasa Melayu.

( Editor's note : Malaysiakini launched a Bahasa Melayu edition last year. Prior to that, it has regularly published Bahasa Melayu articles on its main page and still continues to do so)
