In reply to Dr Shamsul's ' Isu penolakan Hadis ', I would like to say that it is quite impossible to follow all the authentic Hadith in contemporary Malaysia's social conditions.
We cannot sentence apostates to death. We cannot do this and do that. The list goes on and rightly so because we live in very different conditions from the Prophet (pbuh).
It baffles me when Muslims look backwards towards the 7th century as a Golden Age rather than planning for and being optimistic about the future.
Is it any wonder why Muslim societies have a medieval feel about them ? We simply cannot alter our social conditions to accommodate some of the more controversial 7th century ideas. Its just not possible anymore.
What the Muslim world ought to do is to plan ahead and not look behind. There is no return to Arabia of the 7th century. The sooner Muslims learn this truth - the better it is for everyone.
