Mustapha Ong feels that Anwar Ibrahim's impending defamation suit against Mahathir Mohamad is a threat to Umno, the Barisan Nasional and Pak Lah's standing. His logic frankly eludes me as surely this is a personal issue between them.

If Anwar is indeed a homosexual then Mahathir must put up the evidence or else shut up. That is what the law suit is really about, isn't it? And to me the hidden agendas that Mustapha is alluding to are the products of his overactive imagination.

Remember, the issue was considered water under the bridge by most of us and Anwar too I dare venture, until Mahathir stirred the hornet's nest on his own volition and without provocation. Does Mustapha now expect Anwar to allow Mahathir to continue calling him a sodomist if he is not one, or for that matter even if he was?

So why don't we let the two protagonists sort it out between themselves. Their history is almost as old as the hills.
