Dr Jacob George has said that more should be done to help the marginalised Indian Malaysians under the 9MP. It has been done.

For the first time, and after 35 years, Indian Malaysians under the 9MP have finally obtained an acknowledgment. Under the 9MP, the government hopes that Indian Malaysians can - in the next 16 years - achieve at least three percent of the national equity.

But save for expressing hope, nothing has been promised as to how this target is to be reached or the mechanisms behind it.

In the interim, the government will establish 'Pusat Putra' youth centres for Indian Malaysian youth to obtain skills in motor mechanics. Future generations of Indians will not be from the estates but from the motor workshops!

And recently, it was clarified that the reason for the decline in the number of Indian Malaysian staff in Kuala Lumpur City Hall was because many of them were seconded to Alam Flora. We all know what business Alam Flora is in.

Now can you see the future of Malaysian Indians. And yet many leaders continue to wax lyrical about the direction of the community.
