I would like to extend the comments made in Sinniah's letter entitled Malaysian attitude, not AirAsia to blame .

I, too, have experienced the mayhem when boarding an AirAsia flight, not once, but many times. In most European countries, queuing is accepted courtesy in almost any situation, but I don't think I have ever experienced it here.

Another example of plain bad manners is the habit of almost everyone here in Malaysia when going through any set of double doors whether into a department store, a shopping mall or an office building.

In my four years experience of living here, I don't believe that I have ever had anyone ahead of me pass through and hold the door for me when they know that I am right behind them. Almost without exception, they let go of the door go in my face without a second thought.

Common courtesy as I was taught would be hold the door open for the person behind you. It is a simple thing, but not doing so demonstrates the 'couldn't care less' mentality for a fellow human being that seems to be prevalent here.

I think it is yet another indicator of the country having a first-class infrastructure, but a third-class mentality.
