Thousand of Singapore registered cars are flooding Johor daily for the purpose of refueling.
This is contrary to the common belief that Singapore is imposing a 3/4 tank ruling meaning that all Singapore-registered cars can leave Singapore only after their fuel tanks are 3/4 full.
But if you observe the petrol kiosks around Johor Baru, you'll definitely notice Singapore cars pumping in at least RM90 of fuel after clearing the Causeway.
I asked around and was told that this Singapore-registered cars have had their fuel gauge tampered to show that their tanks are 3/4 full when in fact they almost empty or on reserve.
This ugly Singaporean is taking Malaysia for a ride, benefitting from our subsidised fuel at the expense of locals. The Singaporean authority, the Commissioner for Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (CIA), are not strictly monitoring the fuel gauges of Singapore-registered cars and concentrate only on Singaporeans returning with more than one packet of cigarettes
Indirectly, the Malaysia government is subsidising Singaporeans and in the end we, the rakyat, lose. |
