• Bring back that 1980s anti-dadah ad

  • Anyone brought up in the mid 1980s will clearly remember and agree with me that the most effective TV advertisement in Malaysian history has to be the government sponsored advertisement on dadah abuse.

It was a cartoon advertisement of this 'rocker' type looking person walking aimlessly around in a state of hallucination, crawling up stairs and finally falling over a cliff when the word 'DADAH' pushed him over.

Anyone remember this advertisement? I call on RTM to repeat this very effective advertisement. The current anti-tobacco 'Tak Nak' campaign should also consider mimicking this very fine advertisement.

When I was a student in the US, perhaps more than half of students there took some form of drugs, but I was never once tempted.

The reason was because of this wonderful anti-dadah ad that scared the living daylights out of me when I was 10 years old.

So, I write this letter to thank whoever it was that came up with this fine advertisement. I hope it will be aired again in order to scare the living daylights out of my son as well.

    • Have holistic approach to fight drug abuse
