I refer to the tele-conversation between your reporter and me in respect to the malaysiakini report Selangor DAP kicks out chairperson .

I would like to make the clarification that I did not say that 'the emergency meeting was held according to the party's constitution' as was published in your report.

I refer to the 'emergency meeting notice' dated Jan 11, 2007 issued by Selangor DAP state committee. Kindly take note that the said notice is without any agenda of the meeting.

As per the duties of the state committee's office bearers under the DAP constitution in specific reference to clause XIII paragraph 2(b) line 4, clause XIII paragraph 2(c), clause XIII, paragraph 2(d) line 5, I would like to say that the said emergency meeting was not held in accordance with the party's constitution.

Therefore, the said emergency meeting is null and void.

Editor's note: The letter writer was formerly the DAP Selangor chairperson until he was relieved of his post at the abovementioned 'emergency meeting'. The writer is presently disputing the legality of the said meeting.
