I refer to the letter Other areas for EC envoy to touch on .
I have been back two months and I have yet to see a Chinese postman. an Indian toll booth collector. I have not heard of a director-general of a government ministry nor have I met a CEO of any of the key 20 GLC (government-linked companies) who is a Chinese.
I have yet to see a Chinese face at the immigration booths of KLIA, at the customs counter, in the police patrol cars on the Plus highway. I use the Chinese example but it covers all non-Malays.
But I have seen every new banking licence, every Petronas deal and every utility company project being taken up by persons of one race.
Malaysia wants a free-trade with the EU so it is perfectly legitimate for European Commission ambassador to gently tell Malaysia it can't be done.
Free trade and discrimination are a contradiction in terms. The two don't mix. You don't mix 'curry laksa' with 'ais batu kacang'. Got it?
