I refer to the malaysiakini report EC chap right, why throw a hissy fit .

The fact of the matter is that the European Commission ambassador is not right. His perception of the matter is dead wrong. To suggest that there is racial discrimination in resource allocation is absurd.

Opposition parties in Malaysia have exposed the 'Umno myth' that preferential treatment is accorded to bumiputeras at the expense of non-bumiputeras, to be false. In reality, it has been found that resource allocation is actually based on the principles of 'nepotism' and 'cronyism', irrespective of ethnic race.

No doubt some contracts are reserved for the Malays but these are the crumbs - the RM10,000 until RM50,000 contracts. The multi-million dollar contracts (the meaningful ones) are given to the wives, children, brothers, sisters, cousins, nephews of our ministers, state exco members and other top members of the ruling elite, irrespective of ethnic race.

How else does one explain the meteoric rise in wealth of Ling Liong Sik's son and other children of MCA and MIC members?

This interference by the EC ambassador in Malaysia's internal matters is not welcome especially as it only serves to create tension between the different ethnic groups in Malaysia.

Malaysia is far from perfect but the EC ambassador should comment on more pressing issues in Malaysia such as police brutality, abuse of foreign maids and workers, religious persecution, lack of rights for women, neglect of indigenous people and the rapid rate of deforestation (causing unpredictable weather such as flash floods).
