The greatest threat to Islam comes not from non-Muslims but from Muslims who are unreasonable and commit acts of murder against innocent people, Muslims like the evil Taliban. The latest killing of a South Korean aid worker is further proof of the barbarity of the Taliban who have no respect for human life and fear not even God. I add my name to the list of those who have protested against this latest heinous atrocity.

Unless good Muslims begin to stop those who have hijacked the religion and in its name commit acts of evil, the world will continue to lump them together with the bad Muslims who shamelessly perpetrate those criminal acts against humanity. It is the price of brotherhood. But it should not be an excuse for condoning unacceptable acts of evil.

Those who are evil and have perverted ideas must get the message that they will not succeed and that what they do is utterly shameful and sinful. Where in the Quran does it sanction the kidnapping and killing of innocent aid workers? It is time Muslims stand up against those who bring shame to the religion and misrepresent it by their evil acts.

Islam will not buckle under external pressure but it will be affected if the black sheep are allowed to multiply and spread their influence. The world is not a safe place when irrational acts are done in the name of religion and the perpetrators are not checked by its own.

Why has not a 'fatwa' been placed on those who continue to use violence and killings to defame Islam? Sadly outsiders may wrongly interpret silence as consent. And the religion will pay the price for the murderous acts of its most violent and extreme. There is no Islamophobia, only insanity.
