I refer to the Malaysiakini letter by Ah Chong, Panel's task: Is it Lingam in the video?
What is the main intention for creating the three-man panel? Is it really a sincere attempt to investigate allegations of judicial impropriety and misconduct (as alleged by many who have viewed the tape) or is it a sinister attempt at appeasing an outraged section of the public?
The panel's task is also straight forward: they have to decide whether the tape is authentic or whether it has been doctored. If it is authentic, what would be the next course of action? Will action be taken against the culprits ? If it is found to be doctored, then our BN-controlled press would have a field day demonising the bloggers, Anwar Ibrahim and the Bar Council.
So dear readers, I will not be holding my breath for the "unexpected" to happen. Investigations of impropriety against the rich, the well-connected and the notorious, have a tendency of fizzling out. However, promising the evidence may appear at the beginning but the end result is always predictable - 'no further action' needs to be initiated.
So expect the probe into the tape to meet a similar fate when the panel wraps up its investigation in a couple of weeks. Don't expect any thing to change in Bolehland, so do yourself and your family a favour in the next general election - vote the rogues out.
