Malaysia is a unique country with an ‘apartheid’ system established by the Mahathir regime. We cannot fight it divided. We have to use the proven Umno tactic of uniting for a common goal. Unfortunately, Umno’s goal is to rape the country for their personal wealth. As such, they ‘unite’ the races as a means to achieve this end.
The benefits of being a member of this united front is so attractive that many are waiting in queue to join, for example KS Nallakarupan and MIUP. Some outsiders are also given golden pathways in return for their unquestionable allegiance to Umno.
Let us not allow Umno to divide and rule. Let us unite as Barisan Alternatif with the simple goal of ending the rape of Malaysia’s wealth and ending the apartheid government that runs this nation today. Register as a voter. Every single vote counts. Do not succumb to Umno’s intimidation and fear tactics. As the elections draw near, you will be reminded more and more of the May 13 incident. You will also be told that no opposition party has the experience to run the country.
Do not be overly concerned about this because the Mahathir regime has established a system where Umno (a la Barisan Nasional) will be the eventual winner no matter who we vote for. They have secured their position in various ways including delineating the non-Malay constituencies and creating phantom voters. This is the reason why the election commission chief’s tenure was extended by 18 months. Time and time again, Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman has proven to be incompetent . Instead of being sacked, his tenure is dramatically extended against the public’s wishes.
In the miraculous event that the opposition wins the elections, it would take very little to replace the present cabinet ministers. What has keris-wielding Hishammuddin Onn done to improve the deteriorating education system in Malaysia?
Government education is at an all-time low, thus the need for every child to spend most of their time and parents’ money on additional tuition classes. Syed Hamid Albar can hardly put two proper sentences together and yet, he is Malaysia’s foreign minister. As for S Samy Vellu, well, I don’t have to say anything here as we all know his (in)competence level.
The list goes on for each and every high-ranking government servant. How is it not possible to replace these incompetent, wealth-grabbers with more honest, intelligent persons? Petronas funds can finally be used to improve the Malaysian economy and not be squandered on the Umno elite and their wives’ European shopping sprees.
The Indians constitute a mere eight percent of the population. Even if you provide a proportional share of Malaysia’s economic pie to the Indians, it is only eight percent of the economy. We are not even asking for that. We are asking for much less. Indians currently only have less than two percent of the nation’s wealth. Even that is being held mainly by the few Barisan Nasional cronies that hang around the only Indian minister like leeches. Take away these cronies and the richest five percent of Indians and you will see that the remaining 90 percent of Indians hardly have any wealth.
Abdullah Ahmad Badawi,
I admire some of your thought-provoking speeches and like you, I, too, believe that ‘if the choice is between public safety and public freedom, I do not hesitate to say here that public safety will always win’. In future, whenever there is a peaceful demonstration in Malaysia, please call off your police force as they are a hindrance to public safety.
And Mr Prime Minister, why do you allow only the Umno elite to have human rights? Is Anwar Ibrahim ‘correct, correct, correct’ in that you so gullibly succumb to the pressures of the extreme few in Umno? I have nothing to say to Umno as I am a non-crony Indian and in their books, I do not exist.
S Samy Vellu,
When will you realise that as long as any party is a member of Barisan Nasional, Umno’s wishes prevail and any opposing view is categorically disallowed? Why do you remain a member of this clan? If the Indians vow not to take legal action against all your misdeeds to the community over the past decades, even the siphoning of Telekom shares to Maika, will you then take MIC out of Barisan Nasional? Admit it, the minute you are seen to be helping the Indians you, too, will be out of a job.
At the recent meeting with the prime minister at Putrajaya, Malaysian Indian Youth Council (MIYC) president A Rajaretnam told Malaysiakini that: ‘The MIC president apparently did not speak at the meeting and had merely taken down notes’.You have been a hindrance and a threat to Indians seeking justice for so long. Rajaretnam goes on to say: ‘His presence during the two- hour special meeting in Putrajaya did not intimidate those who were there’. Imagine, an Indian is so happy when you do nothing. This alone proves your worth to the community.
Anwar Ibrahim,
Opposition parties have been trying to unite on common ground for far too long. Time is running out. We will never know what other devious systems will be put in place for the next elections. This is the best chance at reducing Umno’s dominance. The common ground should be merely to take power away from Umno and to do that, there needs to be only one opposition candidate in each constituency.
Most of us, concerned citizens, have reached a point where we do not care who we elect anymore as long as it is not a corrupt Umno candidate. Do not dilute our votes by registering more than one opposition candidate in each constituency.
Voters,
Before you go to the next electoral polling station, keep this image in your mind - Umno Perlis delegate Hashim Suboh’s question to Hishammuddin as to when he will be using his ‘keris’.
