I refer to the Malaysiakini report Anwar: I'll be charged tomorrow.
The Barisan Nasional leaders are bankrupt of ideas to contain the progress of Anwar Ibrahim. They use the same tactics taught by their previous master Dr Mahathir Mohamad 10 years ago.
People today know that there are thousands of people who are actively homosexual in this country and in the world, over there are millions of them.
Be it in colleges, universities, prisons, army camps, police camps, etc, they are indulging in this private business with mutual consent.
This is why many countries have legalised homosexuality and even allow gay marriages. The fault is with God for creating men or women with sexual desires for their own kind.
Therefore this is not a crime in the eyes of the world today. There are many past and present world statesmen and leaders in all disciplines whether philosophers or scientists who are homosexuals.
Against this backdrop, what our national leaders and policemen are doing to Anwar is ludicrous and ignorant of reality especially when it has been firmly established that the accuser Saiful was planted by Umno strategists to ‘fix up’ Anwar at an appropriate time.
And the time is now when he is going to stand for a by-election.
The way Anwar was arrested was not unlike the long awaited arrest of a much wanted terrorist on the run from international police network. Do you need 15 or 20 police cars and policemen in masks to intercept and arrest a grandfather on his way home for lunch?
This strategy is what our smart police should employ to nab the illegal immigrants causing havoc in the country night and day with robberies and burglaries.
There are rapists everywhere, bank robbers are more daring and the traffic jams are terrible. When the police are having their hands full with such a multiple of crimes committed every hour and every day, it is silly to send a small ‘battalion’ to arrest a grandfather aged 62 on sodomy!
Shame on them. How will these officers face Anwar when he becomes prime minister shortly. The police, judiciary and army should be neutral and fair in their judgments.
