Umno on road to reform, vows Najib

Tkc: Normally when this person speaks, I just roll my eyes and think, 'Whatever you say lah, sir'. But I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Najibpolitics: Najib Razak's speech is just a re-packaging of Umno's racist policies started by Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Like Mahathir, he is saying Umno is not racist because it allowed for vernacular schools, as if they are allowed at the pleasure of Umno. Until Umno acknowledges vernacular schools, etc, are a right and not a favour, Umno is still a racist party.

Umno since Mahathir's time has been the big bully which has reduced its BN partners to doormat status. Najib's speech still smacks of Mahathir's condescending, bullying, arrogant attitude.

Din: This Umno reform is based on the same principle of reform that PKR used when they inducted Zaid Ibrahim in all his glory.

While Mohd Isa Samad was getting suspended so was dear old Zaid Ibrahim and for the same reason. One rule for some and another rule for others.

That is why the PKR will never see the next general election.

Maggie Lim: If Umno is not racist, then it should include all the races. If Umno truly wants to change, then get rid of the corrupted leaders.

Bring back people like Zaid Ibrahim and don't ignore Tengku Razaleigh. Don't pressure leaders like Ong Tee Keat who dare to speak up against corruption to quit.

Ric: Reform my foot! Fielding a tainted candidate like Mohd Isa Samad for the recent Bagan Pinang by-election is what he calls a 'reform'?

Delegate: Bleed Pakatan-led constituencies dry

Muhd Mawardi: How can Noh Omar distribute the taxpayers' money and let Umno take the credit? Isn't that wrong?

Isn't that what they are claiming Pakatan Rakyat is doing in Selangor but yet they are now admitting they themselves are doing it?

John Smith: The sad thing is that if this were a more developed country, his statement would have been reported as 'Comedian at the Umno assembly' and met with roars of laughter. The mere fact people can believe this guy is serious shows how far Malaysia has got to go.

Amir Efendy: Well, if federal government has no problem with citizens of the Pakatan states paying their tax directly to their state governments and federal government not being able to touch a single sen of the tax collected, them I'll all out with this idea.

We'll see who will bleed to death.

Zaid goes on leave, crisis in PKR?

Suhaimi Said: There is no indication that Zaid Ibrahim is leaving PKR and there is no indication that there is collusion between Zaid and Azmin Ali. And anyway, there is no indication that Dr Syed Husin is relinquishing his post as PKR deputy president. Syed Husin's role in PKR is still needed.

Beh Tar Han: When Zaid speaks, everyone suddenly wakes up and listen as he speaks sense and logic. I'm not sure about the others in PKR.

Some of these self-serving and shortsighted leaders should be voted out at the next general election. Those in both Pakatan and BN, for the nation's sake.

Rocky: Zaid Ibrahim is one of the better politicians we have and is one that believes in being Malaysian. I hope he doesn't leave PKR and gives up on the Pakatan coalition work.

Anwar Ibrahim should do something to overcome the issues involving PKR, Azmin Ali, Sabah and Sarawak. Retain Zaid. Zaid is seen as a leader that can step up.
