your say 'Sane Malays do not support it because it is a racial indoctrination imbibing hatred against the non-Malays and non-Muslims. Having closed BTN down, send its entire personnel for re-orientation course on humanities and sociology.'

'BTN promotes unity? My foot'

RR: If Prime Minister Najib Razak is really serious in building a 1Malaysia, he should first abolish BTN forthwith. Sane Malays do not support it because it is a racial indoctrination imbibing hatred against the non-Malays and non-Muslims. Having closed BTN down, send its entire personnel for re-orientation course on humanities and sociology.

In this modern and enlightened world, a responsible government should embark on social engineering to help all races of all denominations who are living in poverty that affects their livelihood, good education and shelter.

In this process the rural Malays, the displaced Indians from the estates, the Orang Asli of all states must be helped whether the Federal Constitution so stipulates or not. Besides, the best should be rewarded irrespective of any race for the progress of this nation. This then is good and fair governance.

Benny: The intent of the BTN is good but the way it is being conducted is shockingly bad. My colleague son attended one last year and summarised it as:

1. Brainwashing session

2. Non-bumi cannot question bumi rights

3. All non-bumi are second-class citizen and has to accept this fact. They should appreciate that they are allow to stay in the country.

4. Lectures were conducted in military Hitler-style.

He said that they left the BTN camp feeling worse and more disunited. Even his fellow bumi colleagues were ashamed that the non-bumis were subjected to such humiliation.

Sukdershan Singh: The BTN is getting transparent, check this site for their syllabus .

But I still hold the same view, they are a danger to the solidarity among the races. I suggest anyone who has attended these racist BTN courses make a statutory declaration and lodge a report with the relevant agencies, for example PDRM and Suhakam.

Ahmad Kamal: The BTN became more active in sowing propaganda for BN during the reformasi street protests in 1998. University campuses were targeted when it was clear that students were active in these protests and student support for regime change was increasing.

Mano: According to my son's former classmate, the non-Malays are told to just accept anything dished out to them and to accept that the Malays are supreme beings. I do not think for one moment any religion would condone this, especially threatening the young minds and at the same time emboldening others.

SusahKes: I am shocked to see that our MSM (mainstream media) continue to remain quiet on this issue. It just lends credence to the opinion that MSM editors are happy to play suck up to Umno, even if it means compromising on racial harmony.

BS: It's actually quite frightening to note that the BTN (Biro Tatanegara) indoctrination courses may have been modelled after Hitler's indoctrination of young Nazi youths. I was also shocked to see the video clip 'Anak Kecil Main Api' and the other gruesome stories of racist brainwashing. Selangor did the right thing.

Charles Chia: Muhyiddin Yassin says BTN promotes unity . What a big joke. The entire nation must be blind and deaf in the eyes of Umno leaders. All possess deluded minds, thinking that Malaysians will swallow hook, line and sinker whatever they dish out.

LL: I attended this BTN course before. The main aim seems to be instilling fear and hatred among the Malays towards the non-Malays in this country. The trainers are all very racist.

Freemsia: BTN is no doubt racist! My twin sons and daughters went for one of these camps. They came back and told me that the lecturers there said non-Malays have to acknowledge the Malays are the true people of this land and non-Malays should never question their special rights. Now, my twin children have a negative perception of the country.

KayKay: The same BTN-style crap goes on at government universities where all students are forced to study Malaysian Studies. The tutors seem to be Special Branch agents and BN members doling out BN propaganda and a warped "Melayu and Islam are the greatest" racist version of Malaysian history. The role of others is conveniently left out.

Students who protest the crap that they have to put up with are threatened with expulsion from the class or failing marks. How many people know this?

In fact, not so long ago Malaysian Studies became a controversial issue in Parliament. The government promised to amend the module. Nothing of that sort has happened. Students are still forced to lap up BN propaganda.

Abdul Rahman Lim: The world over knows very well that Malaysia is a multi-religious and a mutli-racial country where the different races go about their daily business without much farce.

Much has been publicised about the colourful races of Malaysia with mosques and temples found all over the country. Yet, after 52 years of independence, we still see and hear about racism and the all-out war by the most dominant race against the other minority.

Why the other component parties of BN are not reacting to such racism? This is one of the many "Yes man" episodes that had actually brought their downfall.

Failure from any politician, be it from the ruling party or otherwise, to rectify the situation shall bring about a more disastrous situation in Malaysia between the different races.
