A top official of Universiti Industri Selangor, alleged to be a rapist, could be on the prowl among the undergraduates for his next victim.

Papa Gomo, a self-professed pro-Barisan Nasional blogger, raised the issue in his blog, adding that the state government should take stern action against the alleged culprit.

"Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim should take immediate action regarding the matter. How could a person who has a rape allegation against him be placed among students?" he asked when contacted via email.

He sarcastically said that the person, who was appointed early last year, should not be allowed to hold the post even if he was a crony of the menteri besar.

The top official was alleged to have ravished a 26-year-old student when he was working in University Putra Malaysia two years ago.

According to the March 11, 2009 police report published on Papa Gomo's website, the student said she was raped on three occasions in his office in December, 2008.

Strong arm wooing

"He wanted me to become his third wife, when I refused, he raped me claiming that this is the only way that I would marry him. But till now, he is not willing to take responsibility," said complainant, who's name was redacted from the police report.

The Dengkil police has confirmed receiving the police report. However, the investigating officer ASP Marina Hashim declined comment.

When contacted, menteri besar’s press secretary Arfa’eza A Aziz said the top official was appointed by the university board based on merit and experience.

Asked about possible actions against him action, Arfa'eza said the state government will adhere to the doctrine of 'innocent until proven guilty' and take the appropriate action once the case is resolved.

"For now, we will leave it to the police to investigate," she added.

Nik Nazmi Nik Mat, political secretary to the MB, said yesterday the menteri besar was only recently told of the matter.

The academic’s three-year contract with Unisel expires this year. He could not be reached for comments because he is overseas.
