Musa, did you say the cops are impartial?
Published:  Mar 8, 2010 8:25 AM

vox populi big thumbnail 'It's a foregone conclusion that the moment Pakatan comes to power at Putrajaya, almost the entire police leadership will be retired or behind bars.'

Alexander Yuan: Police chief Musa Hassan said that PDRM was not in cahoots with BN . After what happened yesterday (Saturday night) and today (Sunday night), I beg to differ.

Loyal Malaysian: Yes, the police are impartial in discharging their duties, and if that is true Najib Razak is not the prime minister of Malaysia. Why disrupt a peaceful celebration with no incendiary, seditous elements? Of course we know, they being a division of the Umnoputras have to carry out the orders of its political masters.

Tan Kian Khim: To paraphrase PAS leader Mahfuz Omar: Thank you to the PDRM for thuggishly disrupting the Pakatan rally once again. You constantly remind us - the people - why your political leash-holders, Umno-BN, must be kicked out, and it reminds us that the PDRM itself must be comprehensively purged when the time comes.

And thank you inspector-general of police Musa Hassan for loudly declaring a few days ago that you have 'absolutely no affiliation' with Umno-BN. Again, you remind us what a bald-faced liar you are. Remember March 8, 2008: the day the Malaysian people rediscovered their voice.

Not Confused: Well, it is a PKR event - what else are the pathetic, arrogant and bigoted police to do but break it up. When BN/Umno organise an event of course, they either do not appear at all, or stand and watch without taking any action.

The truth about these events and actions by the authorities is getting much wider publicity these days and the MSM (mainstream media) readership is diminishing daily. Forgive them for they know not what they do...

Benjamin: Every time the PDRM do this... it's one more nail in their coffins. The people in the information age are not dumb and the police know it. It's a foregone conclusion that the moment Pakatan Rakyat comes to power at Putrajaya, almost the entire police leadership will be retired or behind bars. Ordinary Malaysians cannot wait for that moment. Your time will come... soon.

Freemsia: When (Umno Youth chief) Khairy Jamaluddin was organising a protest outside the Australian High Commission, the police stood and watched. During the cow-head incident, the police stood and watched. When some Umno-linked Malay NGOs organised a protest, the police stood and watch.

What was that article I read a few days back where the top cop stating that the PDRM is impartial?

Vacate your seat, Wan Azizah challenges Zul

Kgen: The Zulkifli Nordin/Ibrahim Ali debacle is a lesson to voters not to vote blindly for whoever stands under the party banner. Check the quality of the candidate and if he is a racist, extremist, bigot and dishonest, then it's better to vote for the BN candidate even if you dislike BN.

Such people if elected will cause more trouble for Pakatan by selling themselves to BN in future. They may even cause an elected Pakatan government to collapse.

Zul Nordin's parliamentary seat was obtained in the same manner as Ibrahim Ali's. Both would have lost their deposits if they had stood as independents. There was no way a religious bigot like him could have pulled enough votes on his own steam. Since the people voted for the party and not him, he should have the grace to quit his seat. But despite his religious posturing will he do the right thing? Fat chance!

Justice Seeker: He talks so much of principles, but is he willing to take up Wan Azizah's challenge and vacate his parliamentary seat? I doubt he will do. He should have been sacked the last time when he stormed into the Bar Council's seminar on religious conversions. He shouldn't be allowed in the party this long until he has done so much of damage to PKR's image. Anyway, it's better late than never.

Pakatan supporter: Wan Azizah, way to go! Very rare do you speak, but speak you must as you are the official head of PKR and Anwar is bogged down with his sodomy II trial. This censure of Zulkifli I-am-Muslim-first Nordin has been a long time coming but it was necessary to show that PKR leaders walk their talk.

Arul Inthirarajah: This guy (Zulkifli) is suspiciously silent in his criticism of BN. One can draw one's own conclusions.

Kit Siang's 'biggest losers' jibe riles Sabahans

Tan Kian Khim: Sabah, with an abundance of natural resources, should have been one of the richest states in Malaysia. This natural wealth if managed properly could have driven strong and sustainable growth not only for the state but also Malaysia as a whole. Instead, the wealth of the state has been systematically plundered by robber barons or squandered through gross incompetence over the past decades, not unlike the situation in Sarawak.

Today, Sabah is one of the lowest on the development index: its mines are exhausted, its rainforests raped, its rivers polluted. Education and public services are abysmal. Vanity projects abound, but real economic and social development have fallen far behind.

To make things worse, Mahathir implanted the cancer of Umno into Sabah, a society that up till then was relatively free of racial-religious tensions. The British colonialists have been replaced by Umno's neo-colonialists and their collaborators. It is long past time for change!

Jiminy Qrikert: The truth hurts. And when the truth is uttered by an opposition leader who is also not from Sabah, it hurts even more because in the first place the leaders of KDMs (Kadazan-Dusun Muruts) ought to be the ones to identify the issues, speak the truth and educate their fellow community members on their current disadvantaged position. So, it really hurts when it takes an opposition leader from across the ocean to speak the truth.

But even though it is BN-Umno that is really responsible for dividing the people and causing the KDMs to be grossly disadvantaged citizens in their own land of origin, they are being told that it is LKS (Lim Kit Siang) that is exploiting their misfortune for political capital.

Proud Sabahan: I am a Sabahan and a Dusun. I totally agreed with Lim Kit Siang. We are being divided - the main factor is between the Muslim KDMs and the non-Muslim KDMs. You can come to Sabah and do a research about the public service workers, including nurses as well as business ownership. Most of them are Muslims.

The implementation of Islamic law in Sabah should not be the same as in the Peninsular. We have the 20-Points Agreement. KDMs need to be united and heal the wound that has been stuck deep inside the community for a long time.

Local elections: S'gor to follow Penang

Darren Darren: Greater things are happening with PKR in power. Re-introducing the local government elections is another move for greater transparency and accountability. It will allow for a robust democracy in the town councils. There is no room for cronies to steal the rakyat's money.

Keturunan Malaysia: Every now and then, I visited my old auntie who stays in a local housing estate. Most times, I visited her in the evening because the house is single storey and not so warm then. Some of the neighbours dogs bark whenever I pass by on my way in or on my way out, but it's okay because my intention is clear and clean.

So Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, even if it is the rare two-legged Gerakan-type that is barking , it still makes no difference. Just keep on with your clear and clean intention.

Kgen: Kudos to Selangor Pakatan for following Penang's lead. For too long has local council positions been treated as political spoils under the BN system. Will this Kedah Gerakan Youth leader ask Perak to follow suit ?
