'Whether we like it or not, we already have Jewish concerns operating in our country, which are employing Muslim workers.'
Anwar given a week to explain 'One Israel' dig
Mangodurian: You have to admit that Anwar Ibrahim should have one point ‘minused' for trying to drum up what in my humble opinion is a non-issue. So what if Apco did come up with the One Israel campaign? So what if Apco has Jewish shareholders or whatever?
If the idea is good and sound, then why not? You can't deny E=MC2 just because the one who came up with it comes from some race that you're against.
Shamsher Singh Gill: The issue here is Anwar misled Parliament. He made a direct accusation (to score political points) that Apco came up with 1Malaysia and also advised Ehud Barak to launch the One Israel coalition. Both have been proven wrong.
It is serious when the leader of the opposition peddles in lies, what more in the august House. He must be punished and the rakyat must see him for the liar he is.
Wira: If action can be taken against our elected representatives who speak up to provoke thinking and reflection, then why in the first place does the law allow immunity from prosecution for speeches made in Parliament and state assembly by our elected representatives?
Kleo: I think it's unlikely that Anwar's allegations are true, now that Apco has come out to categorically deny them. But even if they were true, Anwar has unnecessarily portrayed himself as a typical Umno anti-Semitic.
However, we have to put this in perspective: With a corrupt murderer and indecisive economist versus a possible anti-Semitic Anwar as prime minister, I'd go for Anwar any day.
Geronimo: Whether we like it or not, we already have Jewish concerns operating in our country, which are employing Muslim workers. Some of the examples are: Dell Inc, Oracle, Toy 'r' Us, Baskins Robbins, Sun Microsystems, Haagen Dasz, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Cisco Systems, Mattel.
We make use of Internet services such as Google, BitTorrent and Facebook. We are being entertained by Disney, Miramax, 20th Century Fox, Columbia Pictures, CBS, MGM and Universal Studios. We wear branded apparels such as Levi's, DKNY, Calvin Klein and Goldman Sachs.
Grow up and stop treating the Jews as some sort of a bogeyman.
Adam: Anwar's not trying to condemn Jews, he's trying to tell the rakyat that while BN tries to show that they protective of their own religion, they are actually involved with Apco, which is work with Israel and putting up the same strategy for the Malaysian government.
I believe Anwar is not against Jews or Christians, but trying to show hypocritical BN can be.
WiraP: Since when a denial is taken to be factual ? There is one who even swore under the Koran that he was forcefully sodomised. Even that has now been resubmitted to the court as consensual anal penetration. This is an attempt to silence parliamentarians who had been given the right under the constitution to speak without fear of being prosecuted in a court of law because MPs can never be 100 percent sure of facts before they speak if they were to provoke secondary thinking and reflection.
Hashim: It looks like some of us got it wrong. Being anti-Israel is not the same as being anti-Jewish. That's what the Israelis want us to believe. And in campaigning against Israel for its Zionist policies, we shouldn't be anti-Jewish. After all, not all Jews are Zionists, just as not all Chinese are communists.
Select committee should investigate Anwar - Rais
Quigonbond: What's so wrong with Anwar Ibrahim using the Agong's name? Remember, his plan failed not because he lied, but because the then-prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi didn't have the guts to call for a vote of confidence in Parliament.
There is not a day that goes by without Umno looking more and more belligerent and vile.
Avatar: I wish to thank Zahrain Mohd Hashim for revealing the takeover plan by Anwar. I thought that after Sept16, Anwar had been lying all the time about having the numbers, etc. Many Malaysians thought Anwar was pulling a fast one. But now, Zahrain has confirmed (the reverse is true).
Anwar wanted to do it right by means of a vote of no confidence in the PM through Parliament. If the speaker were to allow it, then the MPs would have voted and the majority would have declared they had no confidence in then-PM Abdullah's government.
As Anwar said numerous times, once a no-confidence motion is passed, he would call for fresh elections for a fresh mandate to rule.
What we are hearing now are half-truths and biased views from the BN to tarnish Anwar's name and make him look as a traitor. No one talks of how PM Najib masterminded the takeover of Perak.
Supporters add to festivities at MCA HQ
Voter-get-Voters campaign 4 PR: Ong Tee Keat is the only untainted leader in MCA and is brave enough to stand up to Umno and dig up things about PKFZ.
Cala: Tee Keat is the only untainted MCA leader? Please be reminded that Tee Keat is the butcher of MCA, having sacked four central committee members, five presidential council members, the chairman of MCA's legal bureau, and, of course, the chairman of The Star simply because these people do not share the same views as him.
To me, Tee Keat has erred and does not subscribe to the principle of good governance. He is a tainted leader.
An Che Wee: Tee Keat has not erred. Has any MCA minister in the party's history had the guts to expose corrupt projects? Whether he is a ‘butcher' or not, he has informed the us taxpayers that our money has been squandered. If you pay your taxes, you'd feel the pain.
Jlo: Out of all three (presidential candidates), Ka Ting is the most shameful. He has already led MCA, now he comes back with the blessing of BN chairperson Najib Abdul Razak. If he wins, MCA better dissolve and join Umno.
KJ: No secret agenda with Perkasa
Kementerian Luar Negeri: Some politicians often give out statement as though we are experiencing grave problems and racial tensions, but in actual fact, we are all still doing good. My neighbours are both Indian and Chinese.
They never agree with BN, but until today, we've never had problems even they know that I am an Umno loyalist. Our children can still play together.
Multi Racial: If the BN government is serious about doing things fairly and right, charge Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa for sedition. If the opposition were to do the same thing, not only would they punished for sedition, they may even be jailed under the Internal Security Act.
I believe the credibility of BN leaders are going down the drain. The more they talk, the worse it becomes, because we know they lie. The only hope for Malaysians is to vote for the party/parties you believe are capable of doing the right things right.
