Independent MP Ibrahim Ali and PKR secretary general Saifuddin Nasution used Kulim Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin's speech in Parliament today as a chance to lock horns.

NONE While Zulkifli debated the royal address, Ibrahim ( right ) butted in to say that the allegations made by Saifuddin were untrue.

"I never had the gaming shares as alleged. I am willing to swear on the Quran," he said.

Saifuddin, who is also Machang MP, then rose from his seat and instructed Ibrahim to refer to his speech in the Hansard.

Angered, Ibrahim retorted by saying that Saifuddin had made a habit of entering and leaving political parties.

"That is even worse than being a toad," he said, starting a verbal rumble between the two.

The argument carried on for a few minutes until Zulkifli asked both parties to solve their issues outside of the assembly.

Zulkifli then continued his speech, which concerned the use of the word ‘Allah'.

Legal action

In a press conference later, Ibrahim said that he will take legal action against Saifuddin, Malaysiakini and its reporter, Salhan K Ahmad, for publishing the matter.

He also challenged Saifuddin to repeat the allegations outside Parliament.

He added that he was "busy" when Saifuddin made the allegation and did not have the chance to explain his situation.

He also took a swipe at the Malaysiakini journalist, accusing Salhan of writing the story "irresponsibly".

"The statement was published in a Malaysiakini article written by one Salhan K Ahmad. (I don't know if) this dajal (wicked) writer exists or is writing using a pseudonym," he said in a text message to Malaysiakini today.

He added that the writer should have obtained an explanation from him first and published his response along with the allegation.

Malaysiakini 's efforts to obtain a reaction from Ibrahim this morning were met with this reply: "There's no need...Malaysiakini is jahat (evil)."

Ibrahim, who is also Malay rights NGO Perkasa president was recently interviewed with Salhan in a Malaysiakini exclusive.
