Utusan resurrects 'Anwar a CIA stooge' charge

Habib RAK: Umno is doing Anwar Ibrahim a big favour. They are constantly reminding the rakyat that Anwar is prime minister material. The average man in the street is being fed with this promotion.

Umno also credits Anwar for pulling off impossible achievements - that he can do all these amazing things, and that he enjoys the trust of the CIA enough to be their agent. Before this, he was an agent for the Jews, the American administration, IMF (International Monetary Fund), World Bank, etc.

Umno has sensitised the whole government machinery into taking note of Anwar - the judiciary, the police, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, the Immigration Department, the prisons, the tax department, customs, the various ministries, and so forth.

Yet despite imprisoning him for over six years, Anwar is still the No 1 concern for Umno. They are constantly preoccupied with Anwar, even in their bedrooms. Anwar, Anwar, Anwar... nothing but Anwar!

X-Umno: This story first surfaced after 1998 and was used in BN's campaign during the 1999 general election. Now it has started again when Umno is at its lowest point.

Umno aka Utusan Malaysia has no other issue against Anwar, and they will try everything and anything just to bring him down, even though they know there is no shred of evidence to prove Anwar is a CIA agent. They still play with fire and create fitnah (lies), even though they know fitnah is the biggest sin in Islam.

Timothy: Obviously Utusan Malaysia has been paid to attack Anwar. It's the same old tune. Maybe (blogger) Elaine Meinel Supkis was also paid (by the way, who is she?). More attacks on Anwar are in Utusan's pipeline because Anwar is the No 1 threat to BN. It's feeling hotter and hotter as the 13 ^th general election nears.

John Malott: Utusan calls her (Elaine Meinel Supkis) a prominent blogger, but she really is a kook who should be ignored. She says she won an award for being struck by lightning - indoors - more than anyone. She says the CIA is after her because she exposed their operations. She says she and Anwar have known each other for 12 years, and that she knows his family and he knows her family.

In another posting on a different website, she says the Queen of England engages in money-laundering . When the lawyer for a British investment firm that she was libelling sent a letter to her web service provider, she turned that into "The Queen of England is now after me."

I think we know who we are dealing with here. She sees enemies everywhere, and they are all important people and groups - The Washington Post , the CIA, the Queen of England. A case of when I am pursued by important and powerful people, then I am important and powerful, too.

All in all, she is in very good company with Utusan .

What can you say about someone who chooses to live like a hermit? Probably that someone's already gone cuckoo. There are practically hundreds of blogs on Barack Obama being a Islamic terrorist, if anyone cared to do a search.

Ng Seng Tong: I am not surprised if Elaine MS is part of the whole scheme planned by Apco Worldwide to smear Anwar. Apco is able to do wondrous things because it is on a vengeance streak to disable Anwar and has the financial means to do it. It was damaged by Anwar when he revealed its secret relationship with the BN government.

CarL: The well-oiled PKR machinery has painted Prime Minister Najib Razak as a murderer, his wife as one too, and many other things, including being an Obama stooge, with people travelling all over the world making press statements and visiting Paris to get the French to start an investigation (on the Scorpene deal), organising press conferences and giving sanctuary to a blogger (Raja Petra Kamarudin) so that he can continue to write whatever he likes.

So does it surprise us that people fight fire with fire? I hope that PKR can be as responsible as DAP and PAS who do none of this rubbish and hence are not themselves attacked.

I would like to take issue with this holier-than-thou Shafie Apdal character, who said Anwar "will do anything to achieve his ambition of becoming PM". Until Anwar murders someone to achieve that ambition, he is comparatively better.

Anonymous: Utusan is highly pathetic. I think it would go to the end of the world just to find a speck of dust on Anwar's body. Their obsession with Anwar is getting paranoid and their editor needs psychiatric treatment.

Kim Bah: If Utusan has to make such comments on Anwar, it means the Secret Branch has informed the government that Anwar's popularity rating in the public domain is on the rise. Hence they have to counter it by such silly 'news'.

Hisham, Rais weigh in on 'Anwar-CIA' charges

John Malott: I am shocked that a senior leader like Rais Yatim would comment so strongly and in public on information that he admits has not been verified.

He said, "Hopefully, the blog writer has the facts to back her claims, but I believe she has made investigations before writing the article and it's not just an empty piece." As we all know now, Sipkus is a kook and has nothing to back her claims. This is a person who says she been struck by lightning 10 times, always while indoors.

What has Rais been struck by? He should be embarrassed.

Gerard Samuel Vijayan: Kudos to Ambassador Malott. He has rightly pointed out the stupidity of Malaysian government ministers who have a penchant to shoot from the mouth without any facts or evidence to support their baseless statements just to score political points and join the Utusan Malaysia- run anti-Anwar bandwagon.

Not surprising, this is coming from members of the new committee to prevent false news (defined as all news other than that emanating from the government). However, as these senior ministers seem to be endorsing the article printed in Utusan, the US State Department should seek an explanation from the Malaysian government as to whether it believes that Anwar is an agent of the CIA.

Anwar has been accused of being an agent of a great many things in the past but unlike these ministers, he has never been an agent of corruption, deceit, deception, greed and avarice.
